Eri Wakiyama, born in Fukuoka, Japan, movedd to the United States as a young kid and lived with her family in the Bay Area of California. Wakiyama relocated to New York in 2005 to attend Parsons School of Design to pursue a degree in fashion design. She simultaneously developed her own unique drawing and caricature style in addition to her studies.

ALYX, Calvin Klein Platinum Label, Estée Lauder, John Masters Organics, Miu Miu, Sephora, and Supreme are just a few of the brands for whom Wakiyama has been commissioned to produce trademark work.
